These stolen photos reveal what the Joy-Cons would look like

Alleged new images of the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controller have just appeared on the internet, offering a never-before-seen glimpse of the console's future controller. These photos, shared on Reddit by user SwordfishAgile3472, notably reveal the sides and back of the controller.

We were expecting new Joy-Cons with the Nintendo Switch 2, and we may now know what they look like thanks to stolen photos shared on Reddit. The revealed design shows a subtle but significant evolution from the current model. The controller sports a sober matte black color, with a touch of blue visible only on the mounting rail.

Among the notable changes, we notice larger back triggers, promising better ergonomics, as well as a new button on the back which could be used to detach the controller. The SL and SR buttons also appear to have been resized for greater comfort.

Joy-Cons revealed in advance?

The authenticity of the images is reinforced by the presence of a serial number and the level of detail of the prototype. These elements correspond to information recently shared by leaker NextHandheld, who mentioned this new, more discreet aesthetic approach to the Switch 2.

These leaks join a series of recent revelations regarding the Nintendo Switch 2. Last week, photos of the console's motherboard emerged, fueling discussions about the T239 processor that will power the machine. A patent filed by Nintendo also appears to confirm support for NVIDIA DLSS technology for game upscaling.

If these images prove to be authentic, they suggest that Nintendo is favoring evolution over revolution for its next console. The manufacturer seems to have chosen to refine a winning formula rather than completely reinvent it. Some leaks suggested the arrival of new magnetic attachmentsbut the photos don't really allow us to determine how these new Joy-Cons will attach to the console.

As leaks multiply, the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 could be imminent. Observers expect a presentation during a next Nintendo Direct in January and a release in March, even if the Kyoto company is maintaining mystery about its next console for the moment.
