Withings unveils Omnia, a futuristic connected mirror to monitor your daily health

In Las Vegas, the Omnia is a famous nightclub on the Strip which welcomes the hottest DJs on the planet all year round (Steve Aoki this week for example). But this year, it is also the name of the original product unveiled by Withings at the American show.

In fact, the French company chose this name for what it presents as a “product concept”. It is a connected mirror that has many features to analyze the user’s health on a daily basis at home. This atypical object embeds voice commands, health sensors and an interface which represents the user’s body in 3D to have at a glance a fairly complete overview of their current shape with an interactive view of their vital indicators. A way for Withings to position itself even more as a medical companion for the user to help them make the right decisions for their body based on their lifestyle and thus improve their health. “Omnia embodies Withings’ vision for the future, highlighting the interconnectedness of different aspects of health and making the invisible visible to help everyone transform the way they manage their personal health”indicates Éric Carreel, founder and president of the company based in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

A product as an extension of BeamO

In this logic, Omnia allows you to do a complete health check-up every day, with an ECG to monitor heart rate, analysis of body and metabolic composition (water mass, bone mass, visceral fat, weight trends, etc.). ), monitoring of physical activity (number of steps taken, calories burned, workouts, recovery heart rate, variations in body temperature, etc.), nutrition analysis (pH, evolution of ketones, vitamin analysis C…) and monitoring sleep quality (detection of sleep apnea, interruptions, sleep stages and recovery, etc.).

These features are reminiscent of those of BeamO, a multiscope for doing a 4-in-1 health check-up (temperature, electrocardiogram, oximeter and digital stethoscope), which was presented last year at CES. While BeamO is a small device, easy to take anywhere, Omnia is in a way its XXL version to carry out a complete health check-up of the user at home before taking any doubts. “By providing accessible information, we act in prevention before users’ health conditions worsen. With Omnia, we not only monitor health but we give users all the tools to shape it.estimates Éric Carreel. This new product is also an opportunity to cross-reference even more data with that of other devices in the Withings ecosystem (watches, scales, blood pressure monitors, etc.), in order to have the most precise and complete analysis of the health of the body. user.

The future of home health?

Unsurprisingly, this connected mirror relies on artificial intelligence to aggregate, analyze and interpret all of the user’s vital indicators (heart health, nutritional trends, lung function, sleep quality, etc.). And this with the aim of better highlighting the complex relationships between various health factors. Sleep, nutrition or physical activity can have a positive impact on heart health or metabolism, while early detection of certain indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate or sleep irregularities can be decisive in preventing serious health problems.

Beyond quickly analyzing this information, the AI is also there to answer the user’s questions in real time thanks to the voice assistant which is integrated into the product. The latter also aims to deliver motivational messages and advice to improve the user’s well-being. To complete the experience, Withings has also integrated medical teleconsultation to offer the possibility of benefiting from virtual consultations, as if you were physically in front of a doctor. A very futuristic vision of health. It remains to be seen when this will become established in French and American homes.

For the moment, the French company has not communicated information concerning a possible marketing of the product. Éric Carreel and his teams are perhaps waiting for feedback from CES visitors to improve their latest creation and refine their plan of attack to market it later. In any case, it should be one of the big attractions of this 2025 edition of the American high mass of tech.
