A big name in video games is launching into the portable console market: Atari. In partnership with the MyArcade site, the firm announced that it would present its Gamestation Go at CES in Las Vegas. This is far from being a surprise, since the machine had already been teased in the past.
Portable consoles have come back into fashion in recent years: Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw, Steam Deck… the market will soon welcome a new challenger: la Gamestation Go.
This machine was designed by Atari in partnership with the American site MyArcade, specialized in retro products. It was announced via a video, which teases a more complete presentation at CES in Las Vegas next week. The existence of this machine surprises no one, since a prototype had already been shown during CES 2024.
A retro console, but no more detail
As can be seen in the video below, the console adopts a fairly classic look, with a central screen embedded in a controller. A controller that has ABXY, L1, R1, L2, R2 buttons, an analog stick and a D-pad. Other interesting buttons are added to the product, such as a wheel button, used on old Atari consoles, but also a numeric keypad.

We can also see USB Type-C ports for external controllers, but also an HDMI port to connect the terminal to a screen. In short, everything you need where you need it technically. As for the SoC, size and screen definition, it’s still a mystery, but we will have all the answers to our questions at CES in Las Vegas.
The big question, however, remains the angle that this console will adopt. There is little chance that it will be a console/PC like the Ally or the Legion, since Atari should turn to retrogaming, highlighting its large catalog. My Arcade and Atari have already marketed a home console, the Gamestation Prowhich had its own OS and which included 200 pre-installed games. It remains to be seen whether it will be possible to obtain it in France.
