Xiaomi is preparing to launch a Redmi Pad SE 8.7: a small format tablet which could also bet on a very low price.

In 2023, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Pad SE tablet in France. The latter already had an attractive official price of 199 euros. However, we are now hearing about a slightly smaller version of this product, a supposed Redmi Pad SE 8.7. It would take the basis of the first model for a smaller diagonal of 8.7 inches.

The information comes to us from the site Gizmochina. He had already found traces of this potential tablet in an IMEI database. Now, he has also discovered that a product called “Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G” has just obtained certification from the NBTC, the body responsible for regulating telecommunications devices in Thailand.

Thus, Xiaomi should soon launch its Redmi Pad SE 8.7 in Thailand. However, similar certifications, but less explicit – the trade name does not appear – have also been seen in India and the United States. Enough to suggest that a more generalized marketing of the tablet can be considered.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE 8.7 in France?

Since France was entitled to the 11-inch Redmi Pad SE in 2023, it would not be surprising to see this more miniature version at 8.7 inches also be offered in France. The question of price remains unanswered. However, the supposed future tablet being smaller, we can undoubtedly bet on a Redmi Pad SE 8.7 a little cheaper than its big sister.

Finally, as a reminder, the classic Redmi Pad SE also had an LCD display of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 90 Hz, a Snapdragon 680 supported by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (in its French configuration) or again with an 8000 mAh battery.

Small detail to watch out for: the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 would probably run natively with the Hyper OS interface while the 2023 model initially included MIUI.
