A camera that is easy to use and install
It only takes a few minutes to install the Realme Smart Cam 360°. After finding a place for it on a piece of furniture or hanging it on the wall (using a wall mounting kit), the Realme Link mobile application allows you to connect it to your home’s Wi-Fi network. It also provides access to the camera’s real-time video feed, recordings and settings, even when you’re not at home. We are a long way from what some brands offer, but simplicity is the key word here, which the competition does not always have. It is also possible to create scenarios or define activity periods.
The camera has two axes of rotation: the first directly drives the lens up and down; the second, which animates almost the entire module, allows it to move from left to right. While the camera orientation can be manually adjusted by the user through the app, audio detection and motion detection can also take care of this in order to point the device in the direction of an ongoing event. However, the Realme Smart Cam 360° does not move very quickly, which leaves plenty of time to escape its field of vision. However, it remains capable of easily alerting you in the event of an intrusion.
Peace of mind for less than 20 euros
This camera is also equipped with good night vision, as well as a microphone which, if it lacks precision, at least has the merit of being present. Coupled with an integrated speaker, it allows you to communicate with a person near the camera. Finally, the 2 Mpx sensor of the Realme Smart Cam 360° produces videos in FHD (1920 × 1080 pixels), with a viewing angle of 105°. However, it will be possible to reduce the recording quality to be able to save more video sequences, which is far from being a luxury.
Indeed, Realme does not allow videos to be stored in the cloud. You will therefore only have to rely on the micro-SD card which can be inserted just below the camera sensor. For some, this is the Realme Smart Cam 360°’s biggest weakness; for others, real quality, since no files are stored on remote servers. Regardless, for this price range, this shortcoming is entirely tolerable, especially since this device remains very versatile and will meet many needs.
