The fourteen third-year fashion design students from Choiseul High School organized an exhibition and fashion show of their collections on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Tours City Hall. This project marks the end of their final year. “We are the first class to have all obtained our national diploma in arts and crafts and design, fashion option (DNMADE) without having to resit!” they whisper as they sort out the final details of the exhibition.

The inspirations for their clothing collections are based on conceptual approaches that often reflect strong convictions. In terms of feminism, or even eco-responsibility: “We don’t want to destroy the planet with fashion; we have to think about clothing differently.” But also in terms of inclusivity, by offering clothes for all body types.

Finally, all say they are satisfied with their studies. Some have found their way, like Angèle, who is going to start a craft certificate specializing in embroidery, or Keycie, who is going to Canada to study fashion journalism. Others express a certain disillusionment: “These studies have opened doors in our minds, but less so for our future! We have the level, but there is still elitism in Paris. The selection of the grandes écoles is complicated and, in terms of work-study programs, companies are not following.”
