Naoe’s gameplay promises a lot of infiltration

Even if it is obviously eagerly awaited by fans of the license, the presence ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows At Xbox Games Showcase surely surprised more than one person! Indeed, while we might have expected not to see it before the Ubisoft conference tomorrow evening, the new episode of Assassin’s Creed slipped among Microsoft’s announcements, to the delight of fans . Better yet, we were finally able to be treated to real images from the game revealing the gameplay of the two main characters.

Throughout the first half of the trailer, the focus was on Naoe. As a reminder, this Japanese woman will be the character most focused on infiltration since it is she who will be equipped with the secret blade iconic of the saga and that it is she who will be part of the Brotherhood of Assassins. Eliminations from tall grass, running on roofs, use of the grappling hook, we were able to see a good part of Naoe’s range, and suffice to say that it all already makes you want to play it. No doubt: this character will be the most acrobatic and the most flexible and will allow you to infiltrate even the best-kept castles in Japan.

Yasuke will be less subtle, but just as enjoyable

If you wanted a little less subtlety and a little more confrontation, you of course had to wait until the second half of the trailer. Completely dedicated to Yasukethe samurai and second playable character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, this sequence highlighted the combat and action you can expect in the next opus of the Ubisoft saga.

No small steps in the grass here, but the simple and immediate destruction of the screens to reach the guards behind them before they have time to recover their katana. Where Naoe would do better to deal with his opponents one by one, Yasuke is not afraid to face them all at once thanks to his build and his weapons. In this gameplay sequence, we could see that the movements of the second protagonist reflect those of katana combat, but also those which require the use of other weapons typical of feudal Japan. The end of the video even gave us the benefit of a sequence almost entirely in black and white, with the exception of the very red blood which stands out on the screen. We imagine that this mode will be available in the game to add a very aesthetic side to our adventure.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still expected for November 15 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and more gameplay will be shown during tomorrow’s Ubisoft Forward.
