Samsung is also bringing its Intel Lunar Lake PC to the table with a new Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 with promising technical specifications and ready for the future and AI functions.
The first PCs integrating the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 chip (or 200V for short) are arriving on the market. After Asus, Dell and Lenovo, it is Samsung’s turn to refresh its range with Intel’s latest innovations.
This new Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 is a new iteration of its 2-in-1 PC focused on AI workloads with an even more powerful NPU chip, compatibility with the Galaxy AI software suite and a refined design. A quick overview.
Samsung Enters Second Wave of AI PCs
After offering its first AI PC with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chip, Samsung is teaming up with its historic partner, Intel, for its Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360.
The latter is therefore equipped with the very latest Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 256V chip with its 8 cores (4 performance, 4 efficiency) capable of reaching up to 4.8 GHz. Coupled with the integrated Intel Arc 140V GPU and its new 47 TOPS NPU, the machine is ready for all the AI functions of Windows Copilot as well as with more than 300 third-party applications.
Samsung is highlighting its Galaxy AI ecosystem which can be used on the machine thanks to Link to Windows with certain smartphones, bringing compatibility with AI tools such as Google’s Circle to Search, Live Translate or Transcript Assist.
In terms of battery life, Samsung announces up to 25 hours of video playback and a “super fast” charge allowing you to reach 35% battery in 30 minutes.
A very fine design
We noticed it during our hands-on at IFA 2024: Samsung has, as usual, taken care of the design of its ultra-portable. The user can switch from PC to tablet mode very easily thanks to its rotating hinge, to enjoy a super 16-inch Oled screen. The latter is sold by Samsung as being “the best PC screen from Samsung Galaxy”.
We are entitled to a Dynamic AMOLED 120 Hz panel in 2880 x 1800 definition with an anti-reflective coating as well as improved brightness to use it comfortably outdoors. The S-Pen is obviously there to take advantage of everything that the 10-point touch screen can offer.
Finally, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 offers comprehensive connectivity (HDMI 2.1, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB 3.2 and a micro-SD card reader) and support for the latest connectivity standards, namely Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 is already available to order on the Samsung website for a price of 2199 euros for the 512 GB version and 2399 euros for the 1 TB storage version.
