Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is pleased to have been able to advise Urgence Marine Environnement Inc. on its financial partnership with Snowdon Partners.

Founded in 1970 and based in Montreal, Urgence Marine Environnement (UME) has established itself as the leading provider of maritime and environmental services for the entire Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway (GLV) network.

With its highly strategic positions at the Port of Montreal and the Port of Quebec, the company provides essential services to a wide range of vessels operating on the GLV network, from bulk carriers, cargo ships and tankers to cruise ships and military vessels. Services offered include waste management, specialized cleaning, emergency spill response, mooring and marine equipment rental.

With its extensive expertise and extreme concern for quality, UME has succeeded, over the last decade, in increasing its profitability and significantly expanding the scope of its activities, which allows it to provide its services to more than 150 clients in Quebec.

The financial partnership with Snowdon Partners will give UME new means to strengthen its leadership position and significantly accelerate its growth in North America.

Snowdon is excited to partner with CEO Jonathan Berthiaume and the highly skilled team he has built over the years to help write the next chapter of growth for the company’s business. “Our goal is to accelerate Urgence Marine’s growth by helping it invest in its talent and operating systems, as well as expanding the company’s business segments and field presence to better serve its industrial customers,” Snowdon Partners said.

“This marks an exciting new chapter for Urgence Marine,” said Jonathan Berthiaume. “It has been a pleasure working with the Snowdon team throughout the process. They have proven to be exceptionally valuable financial partners. We are confident that our collaboration will also create exceptional value for our clients, while strengthening our position and exploring promising new markets.”

“The Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton team provided us with tremendous support throughout the process,” added Jonathan Berthiaume. “It was a complex process that required a lot of effort from everyone involved, and the team’s professionalism and commitment contributed significantly to the success of the transaction. I would not hesitate to recommend the firm to any entrepreneur looking to sell their business.”

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton acted as exclusive financial advisor to Urgence Marine Environnement.

The team responsible for this transaction was composed of Messrs. Martin Deschênes, Nicholas Capuano and Tom Chouraqui.
