On Sunday evening, around 5:30 p.m., according to the Kriens LU fire department, there was a fire in the apartment building on Schachenstrasse.
The fire broke out directly in the building and spread to the facade and under the roof. This led to a massive development of smoke, as a spokesman for the fire department, Roger Gut, confirmed to the “Luzerner Zeitung”.
The cause of the fire is still unclear
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. A fire investigator from the Lucerne police is on site to investigate the incident.
In addition to the investigations, the warning platform Alertswiss advised the population to keep windows and doors closed. This is to avoid unpleasant smells from the fire.
Deployment of fire and rescue services
There were 40 volunteers from the volunteer fire brigade from the cities of Zug, Lucerne and Schwyz and emergency services on duty. The Zug police also helped.
It is currently unclear whether there are any injuries.
