BCF Arena, FreiburgSpect.: 9’262 – Arb.: Phillip Ströbel (50), Michaël Tscherrig (86), Aurélien Urfer (57), Baptiste Humair (88) – Fri.: 5×2′ c. Fribourg, 6×2′ c. Davos – SOG: 36-25.

BUTS: 8e Tambellini (Ryfors, Honka) 0-1; 28e Dufner (Rathgeb, Vey) 1-1; 29e Nussbaumer (Kessler) 1-2; 40e (39:52) Tambellini (Corvi, Ryfors / PP1) 1-3; 47e Sorensen (Wallmark) 2-3; 55th Sorensen (Wallmark, Gunderson) 3-3; 65th (64:21) Kessler (Nussbaumer, Andersson) 3-4.

Match which starts strong with very open play. It will settle down quite quickly as the minutes go by. First chance for Nathan Marchon from the 3rd minute solo in front Sandro Aeschlimannthen a numerical superiority for the Dragons not transformed into a goal. A twist of fate: after this punishment, Adam Tambellini finds the skylight Berra Challenge for 0-1. But Gottéron is in control of the match, even if we don’t find Friborg as convincing as in its last outings.

In the second half, Gottéron created a lot of chances, but not really with all the vigor desired. Rather poorly exploited possibilities, with the exception of the one that Mauro Dufner was able to convert in the 28th minute. We should have taken advantage of the momentum that Davos was able to turn to his advantage 108 seconds later. A beautiful imprecision of Dave Sutter et Valentin Nussbaumer gives the advantage back to Graubünden.

Davosians were ultimately a little wait-and-see and even let Friborg pass through the sides before countering the Dragons when they planned to move towards the slot. It’s tiring and Gottéron is also showing some signs of weariness. The people of Friborg have the initiative, the people of Graubünden have control. A meeting which took on another caliber since the equalizer with also a few scuffles. Powerplay for Davos which allows Tambellini to register his personal No 2. There were eight seconds left in the second half.

Match in the 3rd third? Not much to see. Waiting and waiting is king. And Marcus Sorensen shakes the coconut palm in his own way by bringing Gottéron to a length on a serve of Lukas Wallmark. There are more than 13 minutes left to play… and Aeschlimann now lines up the big saves to keep Davos in the game. Which Berra, having said in passing, was unable to reproduce today in the first half of the match.

At 05:10 from the siren, Sörensen puts the compress back on. The Sörensen-Wallmark-De la Rose triplet was reconstituted by Lars Leuenbergerthe coach overuses them a little. And finally Friborg will save at least one point, thanks to its Swedes this evening, to reach a rather unexpected extension. It will be the only one, Tino Kessler fooling Berra 39 seconds from the end of overtime.

This evening, Davos was able to thwart Friborg. Gottéron came back to score without showing much authority (but a lot of good will) throughout the match. A point and a half for each team with very different styles would have been the most logical outcome.
