With two draws and two defeats, the Girondins de Bordeaux are struggling against the Breton clubs during this first part of the championship.
Have Breton clubs become the bane of the Girondins de Bordeaux? After the defeat at home against Locminé (1-2), it turns out that this is an observation about this first part of the season. Fourth in Group B of National 2, the team coached by Bruno Irles took 21 points out of 39 possible. But of the 18 points lost, 10 were against the four clubs of the League of Brittany.
The Girondins first fell on September 6 at Dinan-Léhon for their second match at this level (1-2). The team had just been miraculously defeated against Stade Poitevin (1-1), with an equalizer from goalkeeper Lassana Diabaté in added time. But with a very late recovery and recruitment which has evolved since then, the team coached by Bruno Irles showed that it could play the leading roles in this championship.
But the people of Bordeaux have one pet peeve… well, several: Breton clubs. After Dinan-Léhon, the Girondins conceded a draw to Saint-Malo (1-1), the intractable leader of the group, then against Stade Briochin at home (0-0). Finally, they were surprised at Matmut Atlantique this Saturday January 4 during the late match against Saint-Colomban Locminé (1-2). A defeat which did not please Bruno Irles. Because the Girondins had a great opportunity to get closer to the Saint-Malo leader. Which is therefore not the case. And for the past month, it’s been a bit because of the Bretons!
