SYKY has just launched an online editorial project under the aegis of the brand’s artistic director, Nicola Formichetti. This new generation digital luxury platform for “sale, purchase and selection of digital and physical pieces from today’s best designers” has just unveiled SYKY Magazine, a short online publication. It is “an extension of the brand to bring to life a fully digital, physical and augmented future reality of fashion”.
The company was founded in 2023 by “luxury and e-commerce, technology, branding and marketing specialist” Alice Delahunt. Multifaceted creative Nicola Formichetti joined the adventure in January 2024 as artistic director.
Together, “the duo sets up creative projects and fashion collaborations to create new synergies between major luxury brands and the new generation of physical and digital designers.”
And the magazine is the latest expression of this. According to Nicola Formichetti, it is an “extension of our broader vision for the future of fashion. Technologies are powerful tools that offer limitless creativity to designers. With this editorial project, we hope to show those interested in digital fashion or those new to this world how they can enter the digital space and provide a new platform for digital creators to share their work, positioning them as trendsetters and avant-garde players of this new frontier.“
According to the company, the magazine aims to be “a platform for emerging talents to impact the luxury fashion industry by blending digital innovation and quality storytelling to promote their work around the world.”
The first issue, just launched, includes works by multidisciplinary artist Yasmin Gross, whose AI-inspired designs explore nature and the human form.
Under the artistic direction of Nicola Formichetti, “Yasmin Gross reimagines the signature metallic textures and water motifs of award-winning designer Kate Barton in two special edition digital covers, fluidly blending digital storytelling and physical design.”
Covers for the first and subsequent issues will be available to collectors exclusively on SYKY.com for a limited time following publication.
