Manchester United lost for the third consecutive time in the Premier League on Monday. André Onana conceded two goals in this match, clinging to a sad 60-year-old record.
Just like in the home matches against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, Man United were defeated again. Rúben Amorim’s side lost 2-0 to Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday.
Black streak of home defeats
Defeat against the Magpies left United empty-handed for the third successive home Premier League game. The last time this happened was in 1979.
Unfortunately for Man United fans, they know all too well what it feels like to lose. This happened to the club six times in December.
In addition to the aforementioned defeats, United also lost to Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers (both in the Premier League) and Tottenham Hotspur (League Cup).
Onana had a horrible end to the year!
The number of goals conceded didn’t help either. Onana had to catch no less than 18 goals in December. The last time this happened was way back in the 1963/64 season.
Defensively, there is work to do for Onana and his colleagues, who, to make matters worse, will travel to Liverpool next Sunday.
