Lately, Antwerp has been playing the youth card more and more and it’s starting to pay off. During the last two transfer windows, Antwerp managed to sell a young player for a significant sum with Arthur Vermeeren and George Ilenikhena. In January, the cash register could also ring.
In recent days, the British press has in fact associated Senne Lammens with Manchester United. The young goalkeeper has been given plenty of chances under the crossbar this season, with Jean Butez reportedly set to leave.
Manchester Utd want Lammens from January
The 22-year-old took the opportunity head on and made an excellent impression. He also became the number one of the Imps after Maarten Vandevoordt was promoted to the A team. A new step could therefore be taken.
Indeed, the Daily Mail confirms United’s interest and claims they could be in action at Old Trafford as early as January. The club would indeed have a precise plan for Lammens.
Replacing Bayindir as second goalkeeper
The club would like to bring him in as André Onana’s understudy/competitor. This role had been reserved for Altay Bayindir for 18 months, but the 26-year-old Turk was never able to threaten Onana. In total, Bayindir has only made four official appearances for United and he would like to leave in January to find playing time elsewhere. In case of transfer, United would be closely interested in Lammens
