“I’m not satisfied with this 2nd place but I’m happy for the club. The team was very professional today. We worked for a sprint. A rider like David (Menut) is very important for the team. We are in a good dynamic for the rest of the season.

We wanted to win. When I broke through with five laps to go, the guys immediately stopped riding at the front of the pack and brought me back into the pack very quickly. Hats off to Yannick Martinez and Titouan Margueritat who animated the race. I was the fastest but in the last corner, some riders played kamikaze and I had to brake. I’m missing the victory and if I want to go professional, I have to win one.”

Winner of Hot Spots

“I had a good time but I was missing two or three elements to go further in the breakaway. I caught a heat stroke on the final circuit and Titouan (Margueritat) was a leg above. We knew that in the sprint it would be difficult, so it was better to play the race of movement.

This hot spots jersey is a great reward for the team because it’s still a big trip. The club jersey is shown.

I am a coach at the Pôle Espoirs in Caen and as I ride much less, I have a hard time after 3h30 of racing. But I still manage to enjoy myself and get through it. I took a break this week. Today was my comeback race. The rest will be the beautiful criteriums in Normandy and the Three Days of Cherbourg in September.
