Taekwondo National Team Takes Third Place at Team World Cup in South Korea

The National Taekwondo Team managed to secure third place in the men’s category during its participation in the Team World Cup, which began on Monday, July 1, 2024 and continues until July 4 in Chungcheong, South Korea, according to the team system for men and women as well as the mixed team, where the Moroccan Team was composed of Ayman Kenoun, Haitham Zaghouti, Ahmed Ben Bakria and Ayoub El Yaqini.

The National Team was able to secure third place among men in this great competition, which allowed it to win the sum of 5,000 dollars, after having managed to pass the quarter-finals with the advantage of the ranking, and lost in the semi-finals against the team of the host country South Korea with a score of two rounds to zero, then beat the team of Côte d’Ivoire by two rounds to one, to conclude the general ranking of this tournament in favor of the Republic of Iran, which ranked first, second place for South Korea and third place for the Kingdom of Morocco.

It is worth noting that this international sporting event sees the participation of the most brilliant champions from the participating countries, notably from South Korea, the People’s Republic of China and Iran.

It is also worth mentioning that Mr. Idriss El Hilali, member of the International Federation, president of the Arab and Mediterranean Federations and vice-president of the African Taekwondo Confederation, was appointed as a member of the supervisory committee of this international sports competition due to the vast experience he has accumulated by supervising many of the most prestigious competitions in the past.
