Qualified in 13th position for tomorrow’s race, Pierre Gasly feels in difficulty after this timed session. The Norman did not get the result he thought he could get, after a good session during yesterday’s sprint qualification. The pace was not there, but the Alpine driver remains confident for tomorrow’s race. He hopes to move up the rankings and fight to get valuable points for the Viry-Châtillon team.
“Nothing would have changed! The whole qualifying was extremely difficult. We changed the car after this morning. I was sliding everywhere. We never had the potential to do something as good as yesterday, we will have to see exactly what happened. (Talking about the sprint race) It was extremely difficult to overtake. I had problems with the engine heater. We had to compromise a little bit on the cooling to try to have top speed. We knew we had the performance to go for big points. We are not going to start as well. The race must be long and we will have to come back.”
