The promising Senegalese defender Mikayil Faye (20 years old next July) would be a foot and a half outside of Barça.
Mikayil Faye should move away from Barça for the rest of his career. Confined to the reserve last season (35 matches, 4 goals) without having had the chance to scratch a single professional minute with the first team, the young Lion (1 cap on March 22 for 1 sumptuous goal against Gabon) will join FC Porto.
As reported by us in recent weeks, the third of the last financial year of Liga Portugal negotiates with the reigning Spanish vice-champion. Compensation of 15 million euros (excluding bonus) is notably mentioned, plus a buyout clause to be included in the transaction, as was the case for the Moroccan Ez Abde, who should however not be repatriated after a mixed season at Betis.
Faye’s agent in Portugal
According to information from the Spanish press, the two parties are close to a total agreement. This is confirmed by specialist Fabrizio Romano, specifying that the final details to be settled mainly concern the amount of the buyout clause. For its part, the specialized account Jijantes FC announces that the left-hander’s agent went to Portugal in order to finalize the details of the operation.
For the moment, the duration of the contract has not been revealed. However, Faye should in all likelihood play the pre-season with the Dragons. And this, while the trend was for him to be part of the American tour with the Catalan team now led by new coach Hansi Flick, inclined to test him.
