Layvin Kurzawa heading to Spain

As his contract ends at the end of the month, Layvin Kurzawa could well bounce back in Spain.

The case of Layvin Kurzawa at PSG remains complicated. The left defender has had his ups and downs at the capital club. Arrived at Paris Saint Germain a 2015, Kurzawa never managed to extend all his talent. After a very promising start at theAS Monaco and upon his arrival at PSG, Layvin Kurzawa has often been relegated to the bench as a rotation player. Seen as Maxwell’s replacement, the Frenchman did not meet expectations.

With more than 150 matches played in the PSG jersey, Layvin Kurzawa had the potential to establish himself in the starting eleven. Unfortunately, the former French international quickly became an option B for Parisian coaches. After spending five seasons in Paris between 2015 and 2020, the main interested party was offered a four-year contract by Leonardo with a significant salary increase. An offer that Kurzawa could not refuse. However, in the capital, the player will be used very little. On loan to Fulham in 2022, he has not yet been able to show the extent of his qualities.

At the end of the contract at the end of the month, the player will leave Paris Saint-Germain this time. In order to get back on track, the player went to the side of Spainmore precisely in Seville, to meet the leaders of the two Spanish clubs, the Betis Sevilla and the Sevilla FC.

A new experience in Spain?

Apart from a season-long loan at Fulham, Layvin Kurzawa never left France. The left defender played at AS Monaco, then at Paris Saint-Germain for nearly 15 years. Today the player could well have his first experience in Spain. Kurzawa admitted to having had contact with the leaders of both clubs: “It’s true, I was there – in Seville – and if I took the time to visit the city, it’s because I like it. We spoke with both teams. I have not visited the club facilities but I spoke with the necessary people.

See you almost 32 years old, Kurzawa could finally find a sporting project where he will have a much more interesting role than he has had in recent years at Paris Saint-Germain. Both projects interest him, whether for Betis or Sevilla FC: “Both teams attract me. They have great players that I could get along with, like Fekir and Bakambu on one side, or Sergio Ramos and Ocampos on the other. Both clubs could be great options for my family. The details are important and Sevilla has good sporting projects, whether with Betis, who will play in the Conference League, or with Sevilla, with a great history.
