HIGHLIGHTS

For this second run in this super-special, the gaps are logically still very small between each competitor. Unhappy with his day, Takamoto Katsuta offers himself a first scratch, tied with Kalle Rovanperä.

The latter thus takes the advantage over Elfyn Evans by two tenths, but the starting order will be defined on the classification after SS7. Same situation for Adrien Fourmaux who got the better of Martins Sesks, but will start in front of him tomorrow.

After an inevitably difficult first day opening the road, Thierry Neuville will start third tomorrow behind Tänak and Katsuta.

In the general classification, everything remains open with five crews grouped together in less than eight seconds!

In WRC2, Sami Pajari is in the lead, but at home, Kajetan Kajetanowicz is finding great rhythm, too rarely achieved in the world championship in this category.

PILOT REACTIONS

T.Neuville 1:43.9	It was a complicated day. It’s one of those days where you ask yourself ‘why?’. That’s how it is. We are happy to be leading the championship. We have to open the road, but when you see the other drivers going faster than us, it’s frustrating. We did everything we could today, a mistake cost us 2 seconds but apart from that it was good, the car is working well.
E.Evans 1:44.1	Some stages weren’t perfect, but overall it was a pretty good day. We’ll see what we can do tomorrow.
T.Katsuta 1:43.4	It was very slippery here. We did competitive drifting! I think I could have scored a lot of points.
A.Fourmaux 1:44.2	I am happy with our day. It is a shame that only three drivers could do all the stages. I hope the spectators will be more careful tomorrow and that we will have a nice day tomorrow. For the rest, it is a fantastic rally with nice stages. Sesks has already done this rally three times and he was very fast.
K. Rovanperä 1:43.4	It’s a shame not to have been able to ride in the special before because we would have liked to have had a better position on the road for tomorrow. This special does not count for the starting order. It was a long and very tiring day and we did a good job considering the situation.
G.Munster 1:44.2	We had our best times today with a second time in particular. We would have preferred to be a little higher in the rankings, but it’s definitely not a bad day.
A. Mikkelsen 1:43.7	It was a good day, although it’s a shame we didn’t ride more stages. I hope the fans will be careful tomorrow because everyone wants to ride. I was too careful after the regrouping in the first stage.
M.Sesks 1:45.2	It was a great day, we continue to have fun. It will be another training day tomorrow.
O.Solberg	It was a very frustrating and difficult day. At least it was good here. It was very slippery this morning being the first Rally2. I lost confidence. We are far away now. We have to go back to recover some time.
S. Pajari	“Why not hit the straw bale, we’re bouncing around the track! It’s been a really good day for us, I think we’re now in the lead tonight, it’s going really well.”
N. Gryazin	I am focused on our performance. I want to see if a podium is possible, but I want to win, not make a podium.
G.Greensmith	The car does really strange things. We have to do better tomorrow because it’s a disaster right now.
K.Kajetanowicz	My heart is racing when I see the pictures. It’s incredible. I took a risk here because of the fans. They push me a lot. It was a good day, we have a good feeling. I’m missing some little things. But I don’t want to take too big risks either.
