Hailstones with a diameter of around three centimetres are also expected, as well as powerful gusts of wind with speeds of between 100 and 140 km/h. Tornadoes are also not excluded.”
Climatologist Karsten Brandt from Donnerwetter.de adds: “There is a risk of severe weather with 50 to 80 l/m² of rain. The game on Saturday evening could be quite stormy. Let’s hope there will be no extra time, because later in the evening the risk of heavy rain increases.”
The German weather service is expecting violent thunderstorms this Saturday evening and Sunday evening, which will reach the southwest and west of central Germany from France.
