The France team plays its third and final group match this Tuesday against Poland. After a victory against Austria 1-0 and a draw conceded against the Netherlands (0-0), the Blues are in a favorable position to qualify for the round of 16 but will need a victory to hope to finish at first place in the group.

Candidate for final victory, the France team has still not obtained its ticket to the round of 16 of Euro 2024. After two days, the Blues have four points, as many as the Netherlands, and are therefore in a favorable position before facing Poland this Tuesday in Dortmund. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. and the match will be followed on TF1 and BeIN Sports 1, but also live and in full on Europe 1.

After two matches, Didier Deschamps’ men showed great defensive solidity – the only team besides Spain not to have conceded a goal after two matches – but displayed more difficulties in the offensive sector. No French player has managed to find the net since, before the 0-0 draw against the Netherlands on Friday, the one and only goal of the match against Austria (1-0 victory ) was scored by an opposing defender against his side.

Mbappé back?

To try to revive their offensive animation and regain efficiency in front of goal, the Blues should be able to count on the return of Kylian Mbappé. The star and captain of the France team, victim of a broken nose during the first match against the Austrians, did not participate in the match against the Batavians and will represent the number 1 offensive asset of the Tricolores.

In the event of a victory – and if the Netherlands do not beat Austria or win by a smaller margin than the Blues – the French team will finish first in its group and will face the second in group F, in which we find Portugal, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Georgia. A second place in their group, but also a position of best third would also ensure qualification for the Blues.

For their part, the Poles, last in the group after two defeats in as many matches, are already eliminated from this Euro 2024. The only challenge of this part, for Robert Lewandowski’s teammates, will therefore be to save honor. The last confrontation between the two selections dates back to the 2022 World Cup where the Blues won 3-1 in the round of 16, thanks in particular to a double from… Kylian Mbappé.
