F1: Valtteri Bottas completes an Ironman without leaving home

Driver for the Sauber team in the Formula 1 world championship, Valtteri Bottas (35) completed an incredible challenge between the Brazilian Grand Prix (November 3), which he finished in 13th place, and that of Las Vegas which will take place on November 24. The Finn actually completed an Ironman without leaving his home. An Ironman is 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.195 km (the distance of a marathon) of running.

The driver, who was the teammate of Briton Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for five years and who has ten victories in , swam in his swimming pool, cycled on a home trainer and wore out his shoes on a treadmill. He crossed the virtual finish line after 10h59 of effort. An exceptional time which testifies to his excellent physical condition.

Valtteri Bottas posted a video of his performance on his Instagram account. He was filmed by one of his friends during his entire adventure. We see him in particular getting out of his bed at dawn before carrying out three trials during which he alternated between sequences of suffering and pleasure.

The Finn, who has not scored any points on the F1 circuits since the start of the 2024 season, is a fan of effort. In October, he took part in the Gravel World Championships in Belgium. He ranked 133rd (out of 232 participants) in the 35-39 year old category.

For the record, Sauber has chosen not to renew its contract which will expire at the end of this season.
