Standard is still subject to a transfer ban. The Rouches hope to regularize the situation in the days to come.

Rarely has Standard experienced such a disrupted recovery. Uncertainties about the future of the club are followed by those about the transfer window. Especially since two weeks before the start of the said transfer window, the Rouches are still prohibited from transfers.

RTBF reports that Liégeois had until June 10 to submit their file, thus leaving 15 days for the licensing commission to make a decision. But the club still has not paid the players their May salary.

Our colleagues therefore questioned management, which responded: “The Standard had informed its players last week that salaries would be paid late. The salaries of non-sporting staff were paid, which was always done within the first 10 days of the following month.

Standard must rectify the situation

The club remains optimistic: “As for the month of May, everything should be back to normal before June 17. The club is keen to have the transfer ban lifted in the coming days and hopes to finalize the arrival of a first recruit straight away”.

RTBF nevertheless reminds that the Standard could be called again by the licensing commission and risks new sanctions, ranging from the extension of the transfer ban, to fines and even a withdrawal of points before the start of the competition.
