Le Full Sun, a grocery store specializing in ramen to discover!

If you have teenagers, chances are you have bags of ramen in the pantry. These comforting, really inexpensive, almost instant Asian noodles make my teenagers happy, as they probably do everyone else on the planet.

Mother’s warning, this is not a suggestion or a health analysis. We know that these are empty calories, but they are so enjoyable! And that’s not empty. Hopefully my teenagers don’t eat it every week like many other little pleasures.

For months I’ve been planning to take them to discover Le Full Sun, a grocery store specializing in ramen and all kinds of products (read: a ton of Asian treats) to make you dream! The opening night of the Francos was ideal. Marie-Annick Lépine as a great fighter at the opening at Place des Festivals. A first moving spectacle since the departure of her “big one”, as she calls him with so much love. Followed by the Galaxie show at MTelus to close with some big, festive danceable rock. Before walking towards Les Francos, we had a great time in this grocery store for take-out or delivery. Full Sun has the particularity of offering the experience of freshly made ramen like in an Asian 7eleven. You choose your ramen from 70 kinds of sachets, you cook your pasta using a small boiling water machine, you put the noodles through a strainer, you add the first flavor sachet of your choice (chicken cheese, for example), a drop or a few drops of hot sauce also in a sachet and we order one or more toppings (pastrami is my favorite). The secret to successful ramen is to keep a little cooking water and add some to make a creamy sauce.

Delicious banh mi

My teenagers wondered where we were going in the heart of the Village before going to see shows. Their joy was at its peak when they returned to Full Sun and made their choice of ramen. We were able to eat there on the long counter which runs along the window. Of course, we stocked up on provisions of ramen and finds with Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese or Thai labels which made us dizzy for a wonderful trip. We had fun doing taste tests with chips with hilarious flavors: choco churros, butter, pork belly.

Chocolates flavored with shortcake with strawberries, green teas flavored with boba bubble pearls (bubble tea) at the bottom of the can. In this surprise grocery store, I must admit that I particularly liked the sandwiches banh mi Vietnamese whose pâté and mayo are homemade. You can also order huge platters for picnics or patio parties, which I won’t fail to do during the summer. And the iced coffee made with Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans is excellent! Within walking distance of Place des Festivals, we risk making it a ritual this summer!
