Franco Colapinto was the only Williams F1 driver to start in Brazil after the qualifying crashes.
And the Argentinian added a lot of parts bills to change on his FW46 with a new violent crash during the race.
“I’m very sad for the team after what happened today. It was very hard for everyone and things didn’t go the way we wanted.”
“The team did an incredible job getting my car back on track for the race after the qualifying crash, so I’m really sorry for them to end the day like this.”
“We had a fast car and were looking to take advantage of every opportunity in the race. We raced the Inters, I pushed to increase the tire temperature and lost the car on one of the big rivers of water on the track We will get through this as a team. Alpine F1 has given us a shot at the championship.
Alex Albon was therefore withdrawn after destroying his FW46 too much in qualifying this morning.
“It’s obviously a very frustrating day. I can only feel sorry for the team, because I know the damage over the last few weeks has been enormous and has put us in a difficult position for the next three races .”
“It’s no surprise that the last few weeks have been really difficult, but ultimately I felt we had found our rhythm and were in a good position; the pace in qualifying was good and I felt comfortable with the car.”
“I really didn’t expect the incident at Turn 1 to happen, so we need to analyze the situation carefully to understand what happened. It’s disappointing because it would have been a great opportunity to score points, because we knew that coming to Brazil, there was always a chance of a crazy race, but it was our competitors who knew how to take advantage of it.”
“I know it hasn’t been easy for the team, but it’s times like this that we have to be resilient and try to find the silver lining. The positive thing is that the car was fast and I started to get back into the right rhythm, so let’s fight for the last three races and see what happens in the constructors’ championship.”
