If he did not come into play on Saturday during Real Madrid’s victory against Borussia Dortmund (2-0), in the final of the Champions League, Aurélien Tchouaméni was reassuring about his state of form. Slowed down in recent weeks by a stress fracture in his left foot, the 24-year-old midfielder will be recovered in time to play in the Euro in Germany (June 14-July 14).

“It’s okay, it’s okay, I’ll be ready,” he assured at the microphone of Canal+, C1 winner’s medal around his neck. He was injured on May 8 during the Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich. Already the victim of a similar injury in October 2023, the former Bordeaux player was then away from the field for a month and a half, notably missing the Blues’ matches in November. This time, optimism is required with a view to the Euro.
“He will be fit, I think he can be ready,” Carlo Ancelotti said at the end of May, who did not want to take unnecessary risks for the Champions League final. Remaining on the bench, Tchouaméni was however able to celebrate Real’s fifteenth coronation in the queen of European football competitions, his first in a personal capacity. “It’s an indescribable feeling, I’ve dreamed of it since I was little,” he said on Canal+. “Winning this trophy is a waking dream. Now, some have six so there’s still quite a bit to go work to do!”
Crowned with Real, Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga will join Clairefontaine on Monday. The Blues will play a first preparation match on Wednesday (9 p.m.) against Luxembourg.
