Brest – Stade Rennes: the reactions of Stéphan and Kalimuendo
After the draw against Brest, Julien Stéphan and Arnaud Kalimuendo presented themselves to the press.
Julien Stéphan: “I remember everything. I remember the significant difficulties we had during an hour of play and also the last third of the game. The first hour of play was difficult. On the other hand, in the last half hour things had to be changed. We decided to quickly coach by bringing freshness, changing the system, putting more weight on the opposing last line. It was done much better in the last part of the match, with more control, a little more combined movements in the last 30 meters. It’s a group of players who are hanging on despite the difficulties, wanting to get through it, looking for something new. I hope that this point will be a trigger because it is the first taken outside. »
Arnaud Kalimuendo : “You have to take the positive, always. For me what we remember is the result, regardless of what good or bad may happen. I really liked the reaction of the team, to have been able to get this point here in Brest, it’s not easy. It’s a team that plays in the Champions League, which has a lot of quality. It was a derby, we absolutely shouldn’t lose it, we can build on that. We have a totally different match waiting for us at home, with our supporters, and I know we will do good things at home. There are always improvements to be made, but it’s an away match, a derby when you can’t win, you have to come away with at least a point. We were able to respond in the last 15 minutes. »
