The Canadian’s prospect, Ivan Demidov, will have a visit to Russia this season.

The popular insider hockeyElliotte Friedman, mentioned on the Sportsnet television network last night that the CH organization, including Kent Hughes, will travel to Russia in the coming weeks or months.

« As soon as the Montreal Canadiens drafted him, they planned that at some point they would go see him during the season, visit him, check on how he’s doing. They are planning this trip now. It will take place over the next few weeks or months. They will go see (Ivan Demidov) play, perform, train and see with their own eyes how he is doing… the Montreal Canadiens and their general manager Kent Hughes will go see him. said Friedman

The Demidov file is causing a lot of controversy here in Montreal. His meager playing time and the treatment he received from his team caused frustration among the fans and even among the leaders of the CH. This little trip will allow the organization to get fresh news from Demidov and to see his state of mind in view of his potential arrival next year in Montreal.

Drafted 5th in the last NHL draft, Demidov is the Canadian’s top prospect. In 17 games so far this season, Demidov has five goals and five assists for ten points. He is dominant on the ice despite averaging around 10 minutes of playing time per game.

Fans and managers can still say that at this time next year, Demidov may well be an official member of the Montreal Canadiens.
