Relaxed, passionate and smiling brightly, Michael Andlauer did not dodge any questions during a long interview with Renaud Lavoie, even agreeing to comment on the date of the first Ottawa Senators game which will be held in the center of town on LeBreton Flats.
“I hope we can take the first puck drop in five years,” said the big boss of the Senators, who bought the Canadian team at a high price last September.

However, it is a major project that requires the collaboration of several sectors.
“You never know [combien de temps ça prendra] when it is necessary to go through the administrative, the municipal and the governments, nuanced Andlauer. Building something like this takes a few years.
“For me, it’s not for the immediate future, but for the next generation, the people who will be here in Ottawa to attend the shows and the matches.”

“This is what everyone wants in Ottawa,” noted Andlauer. The mayor of Ottawa, the Senators fans, the mayor of Gatineau… they all want an entertainment center downtown.”
The Senators have played in Kanata since January 1996, far from downtown Ottawa. A situation far from ideal; With traffic, a downtown resident must travel about forty minutes by car to get to the Canadian Tire Center. An amphitheater on LeBreton Flats will be more accessible, both for supporters from Ottawa and those from Gatineau.
