A Les Bleues legend retires internationally!

OFFICIAL – Without warning and after 15 years of loyal service, a legend of the Bleues decided to hang up with the Bleues. It was a choice she had already made a few years ago for other reasons.

After 15 years of loyal service, Amandine Henry has decided to give up her apron. The captain of the Blues at the moment preferred to put an end to her international career, 101 selections have been accumulated in total. It was the player herself who announced it on her social networks this Sunday, October 13, 2024.

At 35 and now in Mexico, Henry certainly felt too far from the French lawns and at the end of a cycle. It emerges from a rather unsuccessful 2024 Olympic tournament, both in individual and collective terms.

Henry had already decided to leave Les Bleues following a conflict with Corinne Deacon a few years ago. She, like other executives of the French team, had withdrawn and was no longer called up for selection for many months.

A new page is therefore turning in the French team… The squad should become even younger in the months to come.
