Auston Matthews skated with his teammates on the ice at Boston’s TD Garden during morning skate Saturday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs star could therefore possibly be back for Game 7 of the series against the Boston Bruins.
The sniper still hadn’t skated with his teammates since game four. In his absence, the Leafs won games five and six, forcing a Game 7 on Saturday night.
In four games in this series, Matthews had one goal and three points. He has since had to take time off due to a virus.
Secretive Maple Leafs
According to Jonas Siegel, reporter assigned to cover the Leafs for The Athleticthe team even reportedly used tactics to avoid revealing their trios.
According to Siegel, all forwards were dressed in the same color jersey, there was no line turnover and the team skated for 15 minutes, after which Matthews left the ice.
At a press briefing after training, the team’s head coach, Sheldon Keefe, did not want to comment on whether or not his star attacker would be present in the final match.
