The new Citroën Berlingo arrives in Morocco

Something new at Citroën Maroc, which has recently been counting on the marketing of the Berlingo. The machine now sports the firm’s new stylistic charter with chevrons and is powered by a 1.5 liter BlueHDi with 100 horsepower. A cocktail supposed to allow this model to appeal even more to families with, as a bonus, a well-designed price list.

Dn the galaxy of Stellantis Group brands, Citroën clearly claims not to aim for high-end or premium. It is first of all a popular brand, and not “low cost”, which intends to make mobility accessible to everyone, recalled the local staff of Citroën Maroc during the presentation of the restyled Berlingo in Bouznika. Added to this are several key notions such as comfort, durability and, of course, accessibility, particularly in terms of prices.

Just restyled, the herringbone MPV, which exists in a 100% electric version, is mainly available in diesel in many markets, including in Morocco, with the stainless 1.5 liter BlueHDi of 100 horsepower which was held since then to the Euro 6 standard. For the rest, this MPV showcases the latest stylistic canons of Citroën, as seen on the new C3, and which are characterized in particular by nicely penciled headlights. Add to it, the new logo of the brand which takes place prominently in the center of the grille. Note that the machine is available in five body colors, including “Kiama” blue and “Sirkka” green, which complement “Kaolin” white, “Perla Nera” black and “Acier” gray.

In addition to the redesign that the front has received in particular, the Berlingo is also evolving on board as evidenced by its brand new dashboard which accommodates a 10-inch central touch screen (which manages numerous comfort features, including the system My Citroën Play infotainment system), in addition to a new digital instrument cluster, both as standard. Note that the steering wheel, heated as an option, offers a new style of rim incorporating a slight flattened area at the bottom. Obviously, it integrates the controls to manage the audio system and cruise control.

As a self-respecting leisure vehicle, comfort is intended to be optimal for passengers and modularity is well-made with three independent, sliding and retractable seats in row 2. Exactly, let’s talk about modularity: when the front passenger seat is folded, the floor is completely flat and the loading length extends to 2.70 m, ideal for transporting long objects.

In any case, the loading space reaches 775 liters (volume of the bench seat in place) and 3,000 liters (volume of the bench seat folded down). Not to mention that access on board is simplified by two large sliding side doors equipped with electric windows on the upper level. A nice little extra: this Berlingo has an opening rear window; enough to quickly load or unload small objects in the trunk or on the luggage shelf which can support up to 25 kg.

It goes without saying that there is no shortage of safety equipment. This Berlingo offers several driving assistance technologies, including cruise control, electric parking brake, reversing camera, reversing radars, etc. A round trip between Casablanca and Bouznika at the wheel of the new Berlingo allowed us to appreciate the versatility of the machine, in particular its very good ride comfort, its healthy road behavior and its very appreciable equipment. A series of advantages to which must be associated a very attractive price list which starts at 214,900 DH.
