Ligue 1 – 27th Day: Remote duel for the place of runner-up

With the title of Algerian champion assured, the fight for African places and maintenance in Ligue 1 continues with full force, four days before the end of the year. A distant duel continues, however, between the CRB and the CSC for the place of runner-up which will accompany the MCA in the Champions League next season.

A point separates the two clubs, but with one match less for the Sanafir to play against USM Alger who also aspire, with two games late, to secure a place for the Confederation Cup especially as the two finalists of the Algerian Cup MCA-CRB are part of the top trio. However, the mission of Chabab de Belouizdad is easier because the team plays at home by welcoming MC El Bayadh.

Unlike the CSC which will travel to Biskra to face the USB in search of points to ensure its maintenance in Ligue 1. A misstep from these two teams could benefit the USMA and ES Sétif who respectively receive the ASO Chlef (today) and NC Magra tomorrow (Sunday) to reduce the gap.

But the two host clubs must pay close attention to the reaction of their guest who have a pressing need for points to get closer to maintaining. Note that the two matches USMA-ASO and CRB-MCEB, initially scheduled at the stadium of 5- July, will take place at the August 20, 1955 stadium (Algiers).

The 27th day will however be dominated by the Classico between JSK and MCA at the 1er Novembre stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
The Canaries, who have rectified the situation since the arrival of coach Djilali Bahloul, will try to inflict a third defeat on the ”Doyen” this season, especially since the recent Algerian champions are rather focused on the Coupe de France. Algeria in the hope of securing the double.

MCO-ESBA, a six-point match

The fight to maintain promises to be tough as there are so many teams involved. USM Khenchela, which has not won in nine matches (all competitions), must react against JS Saoura, at the risk of further complicating its situation at the bottom of the table. But all eyes will be on the direct MCO-ES Ben Aknoun confrontation.

The El Hamri team, which has won the last five home matches, ceded 15th place to its guest of the day who has one match less to play against USMA (1-0) on May 30. A victory will allow the Hamraoua to take a six-point lead over their opponent and will most likely take a big step towards maintaining their position.
