NFL: Anthony Richardson and Rashee Rice fall in battle

The young quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Richardson, did not finish his team’s duel against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Richardson left the game twice in a span of four games with a hip injury.

The second-year quarterback was hit hard, the first time in the hip, resulting in a fumble on his part. The second tackle hit him in the head. He finally retreated to the locker room following the second contact.

Richardson returned to the sidelines at the start of the second quarter, but did not participate in the game again.

Joe Flacco replaced the young quarterback on both occasions and threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Josh Downs to give the Colts a 14-0 lead with less than three minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Richardson has had to deal with numerous injuries since being selected fourth overall in the 2023 draft. He only played four games in his rookie season before suffering a shoulder injury.

The Colts won by a score of 27-24 against the Steelers.

In the crowd were former Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

Rice victim of bad luck

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was the victim of a very unfortunate incident.

Moments after Kristian Fulton’s interception of Mahomes late in the first quarter, Rice received his quarterback’s helmet and back directly on the knee as the latter attempted to make the tackle.

Rice had to be escorted off the field by cart. The Chiefs confirmed he would not return to the game.

Two touchdowns and an injury for Taysom Hill in a Saints loss

After scoring two rushing touchdowns in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons, New Saints tight end Taysom Hill left the game with an abdominal injury.

Hill did not play in his team’s game last week against the Philadelphia Eagles with a torso injury.

The Saints also lost 26 to 24 due to a victorious 58-yard kick from Younghoe Koo on the last play of the game.

Koo made four precision kicks during the game, sending the ball between the posts for distances of 53, 44 and 42 yards.

The Falcons (2-2) had lost their first two outings at home at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

They seemed on their way to a third loss when running back Alvin Kamara scored a touchdown with a minute remaining to give the Saints a 24-23 lead (2-2).

A 30-yard penalty awarded to Paulson Adebo for obstruction, however, gave the Falcons hope at the Saints 40 line. Quarterback Kirk Cousins missed three passes, but it didn’t change anything.

Koo made the longest field goal in the stadium’s seven years and still had plenty of room. The Saints suffered a second narrow defeat in a row after starting the campaign with two convincing victories.
