Rabat – The Saudi equestrian team won, on Sunday, the Nations Cup in show jumping, as part of the third stage of the 13th edition of the Morocco Royal Tour in show jumping, organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

The Saudi Arabian team, made up of riders Khaled Almobty, Meshari Alharbi, Ramzy Al Duhami and Abdullah Alsharbatly, won the title of this edition with 2 penalty points, ahead of the Italian team (Filippo Bassan, Emanuele Gaudiano, Paolo Paini and Nico Lupino) who signed 3 penalty points.

Third position went to the defending Belgian team, made up of Thomas de Wit and Celine Schoonbroodt, with four penalty points.

The Moroccan team, which includes Abdelkebir Ouaddar, Ali Al Ahrach, Vincent Zacharias Bourguignon and El Ghali Boukaa, came in 7th position (8 penalty points).

The Nations Cup saw the participation of eight countries, namely Belgium, , Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Morocco.

At the end of the competition, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa presented the Nations Cup to the winning team.

This edition, organized by the “Morocco Royal Tour” of show jumping under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), saw the participation of the best riders representing the national clubs affiliated to the FRMSE, alongside prominent foreign riders, including Olympic medalists and champions at world and continental level.

Morocco was represented in the 4* events during this Rabat stage by several riders, notably Abdelkebir Ouaddar, holder of the 5* Grand Prix in in 2016 and the Grand Prix of Tetouan and El Jadida last year, as well as by El Ghali Boukaa, Farid Amanzar, Saad Jabri and other young riders.

The Kingdom was also strongly represented in the 1* events by no less than 56 riders.

The Rabat stage (September 26-29) of the “Morocco Royal Tour” is the second after that of Tetouan (September 19-22). The third stage is scheduled for October 3 to 6 in El Jadida.
