The collision left 6 victims, one of whom was seriously injured.
A traffic accident took place on Monday January 20 on the A63 motorway around 8:30 a.m. where traffic was heavy near the town of Tarnos in the North/South direction. The SDIS40 deployed a major rescue system, firefighters and a Smur team to rescue the 6 victims: a seriously injured elderly woman was taken care of by the firefighters and by the Smur before being transported to the hospital from Bayonne. Two octogenarians aged 87 and 80, slightly injured, were treated and transported to the Belharra clinic in Bayonne and 3 other people were treated on site. According to initial evidence, sudden braking and a lack of attention were the causes of this accident. Traffic was blocked during the emergency operation.
