The collision left 6 victims, one of whom was seriously injured.

A traffic accident took place on Monday January 20 on the A63 motorway around 8:30 a.m. where traffic was heavy near the town of Tarnos in the North/South direction. The SDIS40 deployed a major rescue system, firefighters and a Smur team to rescue the 6 victims: a seriously injured elderly woman was taken care of by the firefighters and by the Smur before being transported to the hospital from . Two octogenarians aged 87 and 80, slightly injured, were treated and transported to the Belharra clinic in Bayonne and 3 other people were treated on site. According to initial evidence, sudden braking and a lack of attention were the causes of this accident. Traffic was blocked during the emergency operation.
