In recent hours, the Spanish press, more precisely the daily AS, has shared its concern for the situation of Marco Asensio, who is going through a difficult period at PSG. The Spanish striker, who started the season as a starter due to Gonçalo Ramos' injury, sees his role reduced considerably under the direction of Luis Enrique. Asensio has played just 18 minutes in the last eight official matches, raising concerns about his future at the club.
A departure from Asensio before the end of January?
During the Champions Trophy against Monaco yesterday (1-0), Asensio was not even allowed a warm-up, Luis Enrique preferring to bring in other players like Ramos or Mayulu. The move reinforced the idea that the Spain international is no longer in the coach's plans, despite his two goals and four assists in 15 matches this season. His performance in the Champions League, particularly as a false nine, was not convincing, and his return to the bench after Ramos took over made him a recurring replacement.
If his situation does not improve, a departure before the end of January becomes plausible, especially since European clubs are following his file. However, his high salary, almost 11 million euros per year, could complicate a transfer. Although the player seems content in Paris, his low minutes and lack of short-term prospects could lead him to seek an exit, whether it's a loan or a permanent transfer.
