ASSE Mercato: transfer in sight for a flop for the Greens!

ASSE should permanently transfer Mahmoud Bentayg, loaned to Zamalek since last summer.

Arriving in the summer of 2023 from Raja Casablanca, Mahmoud Bentayg did not win at ASSE, in L2. Little used, whether by Laurent Batlles or Olivier Dall'oglio, the Moroccan left-back was shown the exit door last summer and he headed to Egypt, loaned to Zamalek.

Zamalek wants to exercise Bentayg purchase option

Author of 9 matches in all competitions, Bentayg won the CAF Super Cup to the detriment of Al Ahly, Zamalek's great rival, and his performances seem to have convinced the Cairo club. Indeed, according to Foot Mercato, Zamalek wishes to exercise its purchase option, of around €1 million. « Note that Mahmoud Bentayg (25 years old) also has interest from other clubs and has not yet definitively decided on his future which will also depend on the financial capacities of the Egyptian club,” adds the media.
