This former Barça genius on his way to Madrid?

Juventus' Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo is no longer in the Old Lady's plans.

After unconvincing loans, notably to Fiorentina, the 28-year-old player could leave the Turin club permanently as early as this January. Atlético Madrid have reportedly started discussions to explore the possibility of a transfer.

In the midst of the fight for the championship title against Real Madrid, and still in contention in several competitions (Copa del Rey, Champions League and soon the Club World Cup), the Colchoneros face a busy schedule. Diego Simeone, well aware of the intensity of the season, would have expressed the need to strengthen his squad, particularly in midfield.

Arthur Melo could represent an interesting option thanks to his experience in Europe and his technical profile. Although Atlético has yet to make a move official, this winter transfer could be crucial to maintaining the team's competitiveness in all competitions.

It remains to be seen whether the negotiations between the two clubs will succeed, especially since the finances of the Rojiblancos are under surveillance, which could limit their room for maneuver on the market.
