“The French are very closed people, it’s difficult for them to reach out like the Brazilians do when a foreigner arrives. They saw that I really wanted to fit in, and they started offering me more opportunities. But the first thing was to speak the language. At the beginning, I started to study French. But I remember that at the beginning I missed the first two sessions, and then the President summoned me (laughs). In fact, the President had a bad impression of the Brazilian, because they had brought in Deivid just before, who had been top scorer in Brazil the previous season it seems to me.
