Jesé, a former Real Madrid and PSG player, deplores doping attitudes in football, without however giving the names of players, clubs, or periods when these actions took place.

Talking about professionalism in football makes Jesé smile. The former Real Madrid striker, still active since his signing in Malaysia at the beginning of October, is not known for his great lifestyle. But in an interview given to the Spanish freestyler rapper Mowlihawk on his YouTube channel, the Spanish player amused himself with a question about his seriousness during his career by pointing out doping practices which he claims to have witnessed.

“A lot of people took a lot of shit to perform”

“There were a lot of people who took a lot of shit to perform,” assures the former PSG flop. “Before, it wasn't as controlled as it is today. I'm not criticizing or judging anyone but that's the way it was. What's happening is that maybe it wasn't delivered audience.”

Before experiencing a career with a confusing trajectory, Jesé started brilliantly under the colors of Real Madrid, his training club, in 2013-2014. But his very promising first steps (8 goals in 31 matches) were abruptly interrupted by a rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee in March 2014.

“As time went by, I realized that day changed my life forever,” he explains. “It was one of the worst days of my life. Before that, I felt like I was in the best moment of my career. I knew that if I kept up this pace, I could talk to anyone who. I was young and playing very well in the best club in the world, with the greatest pressure Florentino (Perez) took me to the best surgeon in Germany. 'they had to clean me twice, I said: 'It's over' When I started to feel better in my last year with Madrid, La Liga was ending.

Real Madrid finally transferred him to PSG in 2016 for 25 million euros. In the French capital, the adventure quickly turned into a fiasco with a loan to Las Palmas a few months later, then two others to Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon before his final departure in December 2020. In total, Jesé played 18 matches for two goals scored with PSG.
