Weather Impact Alert Day: Steady rain Friday through 1 p.m.

In the metro area, expect between 0.2 and 0.4 inches, KGW meteorologist Chris McGinness said Friday morning, which could put a “fair amount of water on the roads.”

PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW issued a Weather Impact Alert Day for the first part of the day Friday due to widespread rainfall and much cooler temperatures.

Friday will see temperatures in the low 60s, and more importantly, rain through about 1 p.m. Rain started to roll in early Friday morning before the morning commute, and the day started off in the upper 40s.

In the metro area, expect between 0.2 and 0.4 inches, KGW meteorologist Chris McGinness said Friday morning, which could put a “fair amount of water on the roads before noon.”

The steady rain will start to taper off between noon and 1 p.m., which is when the Weather Impact Alert ends. “Spotty showers are possible (Friday) afternoon,” McGinness said. “We may finish the day with sunbreaks or overall clearing.”

Rain is expected to hit the Portland area on Friday.

Impact
