State Councilor Anne Hiltpold had promised it, here is the thing almost due: the reform of the orientation cycle “will be discussed with the teaching staff”, indicated her 2023-2028 roadmap for the Department of Public Education (DIP). The PLR magistrate summoned some 2,000 teachers from the orientation cycle (CO) to attend a day of workshops. This mobilization being obligatory, the 14,000 students will be released on Wednesday morning and handed over to the responsibility of their parents, notified by a letter sent in mid-December.
Within the teaching staff, the discussion was greeted with enthusiasm tinged with distrust. “It is welcome that the DIP is approaching the field. We hope that this will not be a wasted effort,” summarizes Michaël Savoy, representative of the Federation of CO Masters Associations (Famco).
