M.Sy, an ace scammer, put out of action. The suspect, specialized in creating false documents, was the subject of several complaints, reports L’Observateur this Saturday, January 4. Revealing his modus operandi, the newspaper of the Future Media Group specifies that the crook, “dressed to the nines and equipped with false documents, travels[ait] every day the streets of Dakar and its suburbs, presenting himself as a facilitator in the process of obtaining a visa. This is how he built his reputation, thanks to word of mouth. Except that all his clients, mainly young people thinking only of emigrating, were fooled.

Among his victims is the man named A. Sall, cites the same source: “He had requested the services of Mr. Sy to travel his younger brother to the United States. After bitter discussions, [le faussaire] asks him for 3.5 million CFA francs to obtain the visa. The amount will be quickly mobilized and given to Mr. Sy, who promises to provide the visa as soon as possible. Only, after a few days, Sy cuts off all contact with [le client]. He disappears after pocketing the money.”

Sall hastens to contact the police about Zac Mbao. Who receives other complaints filed against the same accused by other candidates for emigration. The manhunt begins. Located, Sy will be picked up in his apartment in the Cité Conachap de Mbao by elements of the research brigade led by commissioner Alpha Oumar Bâ.

More than 20 passports, stamps from seven fictitious companies, used to create false employment contracts, a large batch of bank account statements, two computers, a landline telephone and a printer with scanner, were discovered and seized during the search of his apartment. The crook, aged 29, was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, reports L’Observateur.
