At least 11 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on tents sheltering displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip early Thursday.

The strike was carried out in the Al-Mawasi district of Khan Yunis, a medical source said.

Al-Mawasi had been designated a “safe humanitarian zone” by Israel. However, Israeli warplanes and drones have struck the area numerous times, carrying out massacres and killing hundreds of people.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli army helicopters opened fire on the town in the western part of Deir al-Balah, while Israeli gunboats opened fire on the northern and western parts of the camp refugees from Nuseirat, according to witnesses.

Israeli artillery also continued to strike the Zeitoun and Al-Sabra neighborhoods in southern Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army continued to blow up houses and buildings in the Al-Saftawi area in the north of Gaza City and in the Jabalia area in the north of the Gaza Strip.

Despite a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, the Israeli army continues its genocidal war against Gaza, which has claimed more than 45,550 lives, mainly women and children, since Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also the subject of a genocide complaint before the International Court of Justice for the war it is waging against the enclave.
