Vivo is now rumored to have a successor to its Y38 5G 6,000mAh battery cellphone – although it will have a somewhat different name when it launches.

The OEM reportedly plans to convert the “Y39” into the first handset sold under a new brand called Jovi – a slightly confusing prediction, as that name is also used for Vivo’s AI assistant in some Vivo regions in certain regions.

Regardless, this would be a source for reasonably priced mobile devices that might have the better selling points of the Y38 (which currently retails for ~$257 in markets such as Hong Kong) in the near future.

In contrast, Vivo’s best-known subsidiary iQoo, Vivo’s best-known subsidiary, focuses more on value for money and performance.

As a result, the Jovi range could also deviate from devices such as the more advanced Y300 model sold on Amazon in India.

Meanwhile, the “Jovi Y39 5G” was reportedly spotted on Geekbench as the Y39 5G as vivo V2444A with the same Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 as the Y38, although it may ship with Android 15 in the box.
