As already announced by Médias24, the Committee of the joint bid of Morocco-Portugal-Spain for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, YallaVamos2030, met on June 27 and 28 in Agadir, indicates a press release from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
During its discussions, the tripartite committee confirmed, as revealed by Médias24, that no final decision has yet been taken regarding the number of stadiums, their geographical distribution or the allocation of matches by country. Any official information on this subject will be communicated via official channels, notes the FRMF.
During the first day, Thursday, representatives of the candidacy committees of the three countries visited several key sites in Agadirincluding the city’s large stadium. The delegation also evaluated possible locations to host the “FIFA Fan Festival”with emphasis on the Agadir’s iconic beach as the main option. In addition, the Taghazout seaside resort was examined as a potential location for the teams’ base camps.
The second day, Friday June 28, began with an online meeting with FIFA representatives, focused on application process and its progress. This meeting was followed by working sessions within the tripartite steering committee to review the various aspects and finalize the adjustments to the application file.
“The committee welcomes the quality of collaboration between all stakeholders and reaffirms its commitment to continue working in close cooperation with FIFA and the local authorities of the three countries to present a strong final bid for the 2030 World Cup” , concludes the press release.
