Three years after its launch by the Mohamed VI Foundation for the Promotion of Social Works in Education and Training, the Nafida 2 program has exceeded 100,000 beneficiaries. Deployed as part of the implementation of the Foundation’s ten-year plan, the program aims to strengthen access to information and communication technologies for the benefit of the education family.

The program provides a grant of 2,000 dirhams either after the purchase of a computer or in the form of a reduction applied at the time of purchase from a distributor of IT equipment that is a partner of the Foundation.

A total of 103,269 people were able to benefit from this grant requiring a financial commitment of 225.3 MDH from the Foundation. More than 95% of beneficiaries opted for a laptop while only 5% of subsidized members chose desktop computers.

In terms of geographical distribution, 15% of beneficiaries are based in the Casablanca-Settat region, 14% in Fez-Meknes and 12% in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.

The Nafida 2 program also offers a 25% reduction on public rates applied to fiber optic or G4 Internet connections as well as mobile phone subscriptions. Around 180,000 subscriptions were recorded. The minimum total value of these reductions is estimated at more than 9.5 million dirhams per month.
